What is The Gazza Curse I hear you say, what’s it relationship to fishing, how come it appears when you least expect it and who is this mysterious chap Gazza? The following words will probably answer none of those questions, but I enjoyed writing it.

The Gazza curse is about fishing, not fishing when you should fish, and consequences of not fishing. It’s probable that fish are never caught, injured or even frightened when the Gazza Curse strikes.

The Gazza curse occurs when you ‘re hyped up to go fishing, or actually fishing or returning from fishing and disaster strikes usually leaving you without fish and a problem to deal with you never had before.

To understand the origins of the Gazza Curse go we have to go back in the annals of time in the depths of the swinging 60s. We’re not too sure when it started but we know our wonderful mate Gazza was always present when it struck. Hence the label the Gazza Curse, as we have grown older and drifted in different directions it has become clear that the stain of the Gazza Curse has spread further and further and now appears to strike in places the lad has not been, but perhaps intends to be at some time.

As I stated at the start, without exception the Gazza curse has until this point always involved fishing. Given fishing is Gazzas passion this is no surprise.
