Garden of Eden in Kings Canyon
Arriving back at the camp we were pretty smug about our little expedition and were looking forward to a lazy afternoon around the tent. Imagine the shock we got when found that a guy with a huge motor home had backed his van into the rear of our tent leaving less than a couple of feet between the end of his rig and our tent. If that wasn’t enough there was a Toyota Land Cruiser parked in our driveway putting a tent up in our kitchen. Al explained to the English occupants in good Ozzie vernacular that they were occupying our car park and if they didn’t move we would park on their tent, under those conditions they agreed to move. The camp ground was nearly empty and everybody wanted to park in our site.
We relaxed with our drink for the evening and waited for a full eclipse of the moon. We were in a perfect place to view this, with no light pollution and an early start. We sat outside most of the evening watching the eclipse with Al photographing the event, a really a wonderful sight.
