Aunty Sues for dinner
One of the very nice things we found in Lord Howe was the number of small quite nice restaurants serving extremely good meals from modern menus of nouveau Australian and Mediterranean style food.
Aunty Sues is up on a hill on Andersons Road. It is an open-timber structure, with decking and large wall to ceiling sliding doors all around. The atmosphere was great with individual spot lights in the trees and sail awning above. The restaurant has a formal feel about it, even though the guests and staff are casually dressed. We enjoyed sitting at a nice table outside in the warm evening air and consuming tremendous food.
Al and I took a stroll up to Aunty Sues for dinner and strolled home again when finished. It was quiet apart from the odd car on the road. There is a very fifties feeling about walking the footpath less streets without lighting, seeing other couples or groups also walking around. Not something you see anywhere today. It’s just so pleasant to do, we seem caged in our homes these days, too afraid to go outside for fear somebody might do us harm
